River Villages
It's our
good fortune to live in the shadow of New York City ... and it's
our bad fortune to live in the shadow of New York City.
On the one
hand, we have access to world class cultural events and on the
other, village news gets drowned out in the din of national affairs.
We're blessed
with an unusual number of civic, social, service, cultural and
religious organizations--all of which are under-reported in the
county-wide media. With the best intentions in the world, Rockland's
news organizations can't keep up with all that goes on in our
villages--or report it in time to do our residents much good.
You can't attend an event you hear about only after the fact--if
at all.
The Nyack
Villager exists to fill the void, to become a vibrant source
of information specific to the River Villages. If you live or
work in our distribution area, we hope to become your access
to the small details that add color to life in our region.
Like Channel
13 you get the service free of charge but if you like what we
do (and can afford $18 for a year's paid subscription) your contribution
will be most welcome and will help ensure our future.
We hope you'll
patronize our advertisers --without whom The Villager wouldn't
exist. They're our neighbors and they contribute a great deal
to the appealing way of life in our beloved villages.
