Fire Dept. Parade
Nyack’s all-volunteer Fire Department’s 150th Anniversary Parade takes place Saturday, Oct 5 at 2pm.
The parade steps Steps off from North Midland Avenue, traveling to Main Street, then heading south on Broadway.
Hosting the 150th Anniversary Parade Trophy Award Ceremony at 7pm will be Empire Hook and Ladder Co. No 1, on North Broadway in Upper Nyack.
In all, thirty-two fire departments will participate in the parade.
Art & Antiques Street Fair
On Sunday, October 9, Main Street & Broadway in Nyack will be filled with people shopping and browsing among 200 displays of collectibles, antiques and one-of-a- kind handmade items. The occasion—The Art Craft & Antiques Dealers Street Fair, a popular event in Nyack since 1971 and a great opportunity to start a collection or to add to one.
The fun starts at 10am and ends at 5pm —rain or shine. If you come, wear comfortable walking shoes—and bring your appetite; Fair Day food is varied and plentiful. Please leave your pets at home. A local law discourages bringing pets onto our crowded streets.
Nyack’s Halloween Parade
Coming up a little later this month, on Sat, Oct 26, is another of Nyack’s signature events—Nyack’s great Halloween Parade —in size and attendance, second only to the Halloween costume parade in Greenwich Village. A project of the Chamber of Commerce of the Nyacks, parade assembly begins at 4pm in Memorial Park.
After the parade, the fun continues with Frankie D and the Boys in the Main Street parking lot, and the awarding of prizes.
